Our mission
Transforming Young People Everyday (TYPE) is a 501(c)(3) community based nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing underserved youth and at-risk young adults invaluable life-skills through
workshops, clinics and mentorship:

"Shooty is one of the finest individuals I have ever met. In a profession defined by ego and populated by a high percentage of "not nice" people, I have never seen him attack, demoralize or embarrass anyone. Quite the opposite, Shooty always seems to be the friendliest man in the room.
Shooty is wonderful with kids and he is a relentless worker. Shooty is a Major League Baseball Scout for the New York Mets. Despite his busy scouting schedule, Shooty took time to coach the Albany High School baseball team. I saw him countless times work one-on-one with the young players, whether it was a tip on a swing or how to catch a ground ball or even just a word of encouragement. Shooty is routinely one of the most upbeat and positive people I know. On a personal level, I have also watched him take time from his busy days to offer words of encouragement to my boys.
